Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a regenerative treatment that uses a small sample of your own blood to create a platelet-rich concentrate. This PRP is then applied or injected into targeted areas to support healthier-looking skin, improve texture, and encourage hair growth by stimulating natural collagen production and tissue repair.

About Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

At our clinic, PRP treatments are personalised to your concerns and goals—whether you’re looking to refresh tired-looking skin, soften the appearance of fine lines, support acne-scar improvement, or address thinning hair. We focus on evidence-based approaches, careful technique, and a comfortable experience from consultation to aftercare.

Because PRP is created from your own blood, it is generally well-tolerated, with minimal downtime for most patients. Your plan may include PRP alone, PRP with microneedling, and optional add-ons depending on your treatment area and desired outcome.

How it Works

We review your goals, medical history, and suitability for PRP.

A small amount of blood is taken (similar to a routine blood test).

The blood is spun to separate and concentrate platelets.

PRP is injected into specific areas or applied to the skin after microneedling (depending on the service).

You’ll receive guidance on skincare, activity, and what to expect.

When PRP May Not Be Suitable

PRP might not be recommended if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (often precautionary policy)

  • Have a bleeding disorder or are taking certain blood-thinning medications (case-by-case)

  • Have an active skin infection, cold sore flare, or scalp infection in the treatment area

  • Have certain blood conditions or platelet disorders

  • Are undergoing active cancer treatment (case-by-case—requires clinician clearance)

If you’re unsure, a consultation will clarify eligibility.

Quick answers to questions you may have

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is made from a small sample of your own blood and is rich in growth factors. It’s used to improve skin quality and glow, support collagen production (especially with microneedling), soften the look of fine lines, and stimulate hair follicles in cases of thinning hair.

This depends on the area and your goals. Many clients choose a short course of treatments (commonly spaced a few weeks apart), then maintain results with occasional top-up sessions. Hair PRP typically needs more consistency than facial PRP.

Downtime is usually minimal. After PRP with microneedling you can expect redness and sensitivity for 24–72 hours. With injections, you may get mild swelling or bruising for a few days—especially under the eyes.

Because PRP uses your own blood, it’s generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness. Infection is rare when proper sterile technique and aftercare are followed.
